Forgot how simple cookies can be.

My daughter, Enide, and I made two batches of Flourless Banana Peanut Butter Cookies. We used rolled oats, banana, peanut butter made of only peanuts, and a blendtec twister jar to mix everything. The first batch wasn't flatted and was in for 13 minutes instead of twelve resulting in burned peaks. The second was flattened and exactly 12 minutes and turned out pretty good. Enide preferred the dough before baking it, and I found it to be a bit blah. Next time, I want to try it with a whole cup of peanuts instead of a half cup of peanut butter. She says it needs marshmallows.

Forgot how lack of sound has meaning

If your group is talking loudly at a restaurant about something juicy, and the people at the table next to you are silent, there's a good chance they're listening.

Forgot how children and cats have different views of the world

July 27, 2014 09:55

Our year and half old daughter, Enide, was sitting on the floor, carefully taking her toy stacker boxes out of each another, and spacing the the boxes equal distances apart around her. Our fattest and furriest cat, Calypso, was laying almost directly next to her with her eyes closed as if trying to sleep. After removing a few boxes, Enide reached over and grabbed a handful of fur from Calypso. She put it in one of the boxes then covered it with a smaller box that also fit in. Calypso just looked at her without making a sound and closed her eyes again. Both continued on as if nothing unusual happened.

Forgot how to write

I forgot how enjoyable it can be to sometimes write down things that might be useful to to someone. I've decided I'm going to try doing that again and bring back a section of the site where I can add posts that are more than just pictures.
